September 2022: Production Update, Three Body Hardware Design Video, and Knobcon
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
We have the Three Body PBCAs and panels in house in Vancouver, WA, and are beginning assembly, programming, and QC. We are on track to start shipping the pre-orders mid-september and then start offering the modules to retailers. I made a pretty detailed video about the Three Body's hardware design and also about FPGAs, what they are good for, and also how/why I used one. This is a bit dry but maybe interesting to the more technically minded folk out there. Also we will be at Knobcon September 9th to 11th, come say hi!
July 2022: Three Body Pre-order now open!
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
Hi! I am excited to announce (after nearly four years of development) the Three Body triple digital oscillator is now available for (pre) purchase. We have already placed the order for the PCB assembly, with those parts due in our hands in August and shipping of fully built units to begin in September. Once we have filled the pre-order we will open up the next batch of units to our retail partners. This is being handled differently than our previous modules because of the parts shortage. We have extremely limited numbers of the critical part, the FPGA, on hand and...

If you check the Boundary product page the full manual is finally up (alongside the quickstart which has been up since release). Apologies for the delay, but there is some good info in there.
January 2022 Update: New Years, Larval with Bastien Lavaud

Happy New Years! I've finally had a little breathing room since the Boundary release, ordered a new Three Body prototype, and spent the last week or two trying out new ideas as well as researching open source soft-core processors for FPGAs. Hopefully this year will see some new hardware from us (a lot depends on the supply chain crisis but we should be able to make -something-). We've been working with the international divide to get the Portland team dialing in production while I work on R&D again. I've also been spending a lot of time tinkering with video synthesis...
