Hard Kicks and VCV Rack
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
Hello! Things have been busy here so I have not had a chance to announce that we now have the Nibbler, BTMX, and BTFLD available free and open source on VCV Rack. Search it in the library and let me know how it goes! It was created by our friend Arden Butterfield. I will post again next week when I have had some time to make some example patches but for now go ahead and try it out, anything in the manuals should work! Also we have a new Stazma Schlappy Patching video on hard kicks!
Synth Library Portland Video Sync
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
This weekend I will be performing at the Synth Library Portland Video Sync event at Lloyd Center with my friend Bastien Lavaud who has flown all the way from France! We are performing Saturday night but I will probably be there the whole time and Bastien will have a booth for his video synthesizer company Syntonie. I am also excited to see all the talks and performances! Also I have been too busy but the observant who use VCV Rack may have seen a few Schlappi modules pop up. Official announcement soon.

Machina Bristronica 2024 Distortion talk now available on Youtube
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
Last year at Machina Bristronica I gave a talk about distortion and they finally posted it up on Youtube. I haven't watched it since listening to myself talk is super weird but I bet it's pretty good and extremely wide ranging. I had a ton of fun at the fest last year, wasn't planning on going this year just due to the amount of travel but maybe if someone twists my arm real hard I will.
Post-Superbooth: Boundary Layer, hard kicks and binary
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
I just got back from Superbooth where I spent 3 days making hard kick drums with Julien (Stazma) and showing off our new module the Boundary Layer... I'm still jet lagged though and might keep the rest of the Boundary Layer info until you can buy it (soon!). In the mean time here is another video full of hard kicks and one of me talking about the 4 bit binary system.
