Three Body Chords video from Stazma, Machina Bristronica Sonic State video
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
I am recovering from a standard post-trade show flu so this update is a little late... However last weekend I went to Machina Bristronica in Bristol and had an absolutely wonderful time. On Friday and Saturday I got to talk to tons of synthesizer friends then see Surgeon play, and on Sunday I gave a talk on distortion then was able to catch Legowelt. I gave an interview with Sonic State going over our line and revealing BTFLD, which we will publicly release maybe next week, retailer emails are getting sent out this weekend and we will give them a...
Divkid interview from last years Machina Bristronica, 2024 edition coming soon
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
In the run up to Machina Bristronica in a couple weeks I was a bit surprised to see the interview that Divkid and I did at the event last year finally get posted up. It's worth checking out for a nice bit of philosophy chat, some jamming, and some demoing of the Three Body and Nibbler. For this year I will give a talk titled "Warped Perspectives: Exploring Types of Distortion, Applications and Techniques” and will be getting a bit into different types of processes we refer to as distortion and different ways to think about as well as use...
Quitnyst album and new Stazma Schlappy Patching 101 video
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
I'd like to share the album of the band I was playing in when I was living in Grenoble, France since we just finally released it. The band is called Quitnyst and the album is called Eff Ess Over Two. We performed four or five shows over the course of a year and a half or so. The lineup was a three piece with me (Eric) on modular lead/noise (just two pods with a Three Body and several Boundary), Thom with an Arturia Minifreak playing bass/chords, and Karotz on drums. The description "Quitnyst is a kraut-aliased trio, which aims at...
Garage sale, new office, interviews with Eden Gray and Electromaker, Teardown talk
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
Hello, I hope you are all having a great summer! A bit of a catch up post. First, we added a "Garage Sale" section to the website (in the Eurorack section) which is a bunch of modules all meeting our current standards and warranties but possibly with old front panels, b-stock panels, repair or rework on the back, mostly being sold for a little over wholesale. Check it out if you are looking for a deal! We will continue to add to it over time. The reason we are doing that is that we moved! We are back in Portland...
New Eric Schlappi and Bastien Lavaud AV album 'Larval Beak' out now
Posted by Eric Schlappi on
New AV album from Eric Schlappi and Bastien Lavaud (with guest appearances from Karotz and Pepper Smithereens) is now on the Concrete Collage youtube and bandcamp. This album was recorded as a series of modular AV jams in Grenoble, France in 2021 and 2022 with overdubs and tweaking taking place over time since then. It covers a wide range of styles from hard industrial techno to more ambient tracks. This album would have been recorded with a mostly Schlappi system, but would have still been a prototype Three Body at this point and the Monome Grid/Ansible/Kria for sequencing. For video...
